One of them was related to a system bug which prevented users from copying files to the system or even moving them. Although this issue only affects a low share of PCs running Windows 11it is nonetheless disabling, especially for those who use their PC to work.

According to Bleeping Computer, this problem is now fixed. Users who encountered ” intermittent failures when saving and copying files on Windows 11 22h2 devices (especially when using network shares)” just have to perform the update to Windows 11 KB5027231 to use their PCs without fear of losing files. According to Microsoft, “this recurring issue only affects Windows applications using the CopyFile API and which take into account the limits of wide address spaces”.

That said, some users of Microsoft Office suite applications may also experience copying and saving issues, but only on 32-bit versions. In this case, affected users will see a “Document not saved” error message. For ordinary mortals, copying, moving or file backup works still great, since these functions depend on File Explorer, not the CopyFile API.
