Ludus conducts training in First Aid with virtual reality

Ludus has recently launched a virtual reality platform with which to train first aid in the face of choking hazards. However, in Spain these have become the third external cause of death, after suicides and falls. In our country, eight people die every day as a result of this type of accident.

Now Ludus is going to put into practice an instructive simulation, which focuses mainly on experts in occupational risk prevention training and other groups such as emergency personnel. Mikel Cearsolo, general director of Ludus explained that “theoretical training with assumptions out loud can be limited by the lack of realism. In addition, training with virtual reality enhances retention in the medium and long term, since, when feeling in a real emergency situation, motivation grows”.

Virtual reality for first aid training

From the Basque company they consider that Training with a virtual reality application has advantages that are not offered by other training modalities. Ludus does not provide this instruction but rather puts technology at the service of other companies and professionals so that first aid training is much more dynamic and complete.

With the Ludus First Aid module, the trainer will be able to prepare students, such as in the Heimlich Maneuver, in a realistic and immersive environment, managing to promote motivation and retention to be able to face situations that occur in real lifeavoiding the well-known psychological blocks that occur in this type of emergency.

The program is so complete and real that the student will be the protagonist of the training, and it is that it allows training in different real situations such as partial obstruction, total obstruction or loss of consciousness and analyzes the performance according to parameters such as reaction time or mistakes made. In this way, the student is aware of the consequences of her actions.

The Basque company has announced that it will progressively update the module, in order to add new exercises to solve other situations that can occur in our lives such as training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), choking in minors, burns, wounds, strokes or rescues in situations of electric shock.
