Luis Azofra is the new country manager in Spain for IbanFirst

IbanFirst remains committed to strengthening its workforce in our country. The provider of international payment services for SMEs in continental Europe, has appointed as country manager in Spain a Louis Azofrawho will be responsible for leading the launch and expansion of the multinational in national territory.

Graduated in Mathematics from the Autonomous University of Madrid, he has extensive experience of more than 25 years in the financial sector, where he has held managerial positions in both national and international positions.

Thus, after more than ten years in first level financial entities such as JP Morgan-Chase or ABN AMRO, Azofra held different managerial responsibilities within BBVA’s global markets area in Spain and England for another ten years. After that stage, he was in charge of Ebury Spain for two years, one of the main fintech companies in the Spanish foreign exchange market.

Investment of 200 million euros

With a presence in ten countries, the appointment of Azofra represents iBanFirst’s commitment to Spain, where it has set itself the goal of leading the fintech market for international collections and payments in the medium and small business segment within a period of five years.

The landing of IbanFirst in Spain comes after the capital investment of 200 million euros by the international firm Marlin Equity Partners (MEP), to finance the development of new products, promote international expansion and support corporate agreements of mergers and acquisitions.
