MINISFORUM MT4UB1, a very compact and very cheap PC

The MINISFORUM MT4UB1 is one of the most interesting mini PCs we’ve seen lately. This team is configured with an AMD A4-9120 APU, a discrete solution that has been behind it for a while, but is still capable of offering a more than acceptable performance in undemanding applications and tasks.

Although it is a configuration that we can consider low-end, the truth is that the MINISFORUM MT4UB1 offers an interesting value because it is very economical, and because it is designed to seamlessly cover the needs of professional profiles that mainly carry out light office automation and web browsing tasks.

The AMD A4-9120 chip has a CPU with two Stoney Ridge cores running at 2.4 GHz, it has 1 MB of L2 cache and has an integrated Radeon R3 GPU with 192 shaders, which will allow us to use two monitors through the two HDMI outputs that this equipment includes. In its base configuration it comes with 4 GB of DDR4 and has a storage capacity of 64 GB, which means that it more than meets the requirements necessary to move Windows 10.

Its design is simple but it works, and the chassis offers a wide range of connectors that we can easily take advantage of. In the front we have three USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack, and on the back it has two USB 2.0 ports, two Gigabit LAN connectors and two HDMI outputs. If we want to connect it to the Internet without cables, we will have no problem, since it comes with a network card compatible with WiFi 5.

The MINISFORUM MT4UB1 includes Windows 10 Pro 64-bit as the operating system, and will have a price of 159 euros. We could update to Windows 11 by forcing its installation, but it is not recommended because it does not meet the requirements, and because the performance would not be good. With Windows 10 we can expect an acceptable experience.
