now is the time to exit the Beta channel for Insiders

Microsoft is currently offering a way out for Windows 11 users in the Beta channel. Until March 8, it is possible for them to return to the consumer version of the operating system, in anticipation of the deployment of the Moment 2 update. Here’s how to take advantage of it.

For users who don’t want to wait to take advantage of the latest features of Windows 11, Microsoft has set up the Insider program. The market is as follows: by subscribing to the Dev or Beta channel, testers benefit from early access to new features, but run the risk of running on a less stable version of Windows. In exchange, Microsoft has direct feedback from users on these features.

It therefore happens that some Insiders wish to return to the general public version of the OS. Unfortunately, the only way to do this, for now, is to completely reinstall Windows. Not very practical therefore, which can dissuade more than one from embarking on the process, condemning them to remain on the Beta channel. If this is your case, we have good news for you. Microsoft will greatly simplify your life.

Here’s how to get out of the Beta channel before March 8

Indeed, the Redmond firm has just announced that an “exit ramp” will soon be integrated into the operating system settings, especially dedicated to Insiders on the Beta channel. Concretely, this will leave the choice to the users concerned to continue on the channel with build 1235, or on the contrary to return to the last build for the general public from the next Patch Tuesday.

To do this, you will need to go to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program and click on the option “stop receiving preview builds”. Your PC will then initiate a restart and launch its troubleshooter to complete the process. Be careful however, you have until March 8 to carry out this operation. After this date, you will have to reinstall Windows 11 again to return to the stable version.
