The firm QNAP has presented the TS-873AeU NAS series, a new generation that starts from a design that facilitates mounting in a shallow 2U rack, and that uses processors Ryzen Embedded V1500Bwhich are based on the first generation Zen architecture, manufactured in a 14nm process and add 4 cores and 8 threads at a speed of 2.2 GHz. This allows them to offer a high level of performance while maintaining high energy efficiency.
QNAP TS-873AeU NAS are available in 8-bay models with single and redundant power supply options, and are ideal for applications and tasks that require a lot of resourcessuch as virtual machines, intensive multi-tenant access, or hybrid cloud applications, making it a cost-effective solution for businesses that rely on virtualization or VDI applications.
As we have anticipated, this new series uses a shallow design, specifically only 297.4 mm, which represents a size reduction of around 38%, and makes it a solution to take into account in those workplaces where space is a problem. This series can be integrated into very small racks, and offers significant value in terms of flexibility and versatility.

It also features two M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x 1 slots for SSD storage and SSD storage pools, and Edge TPU for AI image recognition. We will be able to expand the capabilities of the NAS thanks to the PCIe Gen3 x 8 slot, which will allow us to install 25/10GbE network cards, M.2 SSD NVMe cards and fiber channel cards.
