RED and B&You have in common to launch a 100 GB package for 10 euros per month, without commitment and without price increase after 12 months. Excellent value for money that should be considered.

The 2 packages 100 GB per month in detail

In detail, here is what the 2 packages offer:

B&You :

  • Unlimited calls, SMS/MMS
  • 100 GB of 4G in France
  • 15 GB of internet from the European Union and the French overseas departments

RED by SFR:

  • Unlimited calls, SMS/MMS
  • 100 GB of 4G in France
  • 14 GB of internet from the European Union and the French overseas departments

As you can see, the two offers are very similar. This promotion on the RED package is valid until February 18, while that of B&You ends on 02/17. In both cases, there are 100 GB of 4G on mobile networks which are equal, as well as unlimited calls, SMS and MMS to and from mainland France. Unfortunately, both formulas are limited to new customers, so if you are already with one of the two operators, you will not be able to take advantage of them.

At RED as at B&You, the package can be used abroad, that is to say in the European Union as well as in the overseas departments. This means you don’t have to checkout again for a trip. There is a small nuance here, since RED is less generous in offering only 14 GB abroad, against 15 GB for B&You!

The main differences

It is difficult to decide between the two operators concerning their quality of mobile networks, insofar as it depends strongly on the region from which you are. Overall, the two are equal according to Arcep. On the options side, there are a few differences. At the house of Bouygues, you can enrich your package with a television for an additional 6 euros per month, or even with two numbers on a single package for an additional 3 euros per month. Everything is non-binding, which offers a certain freedom. Finally, it is possible to subscribe to an option that allows you to have no mobile data limit on weekends, for 8 euros per month.

RED by SFR offers a 20 GB option + Unlimited calls/SMS from the European Union, USA and Canada for 5 euros per month. If you plan to travel to one of its destinations, this can be a deciding factor. But the most interesting option is the one concerning 5G, since for €5 per month, you will have access to the operator’s 5G network. Which makes it one of the cheapest 5G packages on the market at only €15/month!

We therefore give a slight advantage to the package of RED by SFR for its small mobile data bonus abroad, and optional 5G. For a more multimedia-oriented use, B&You seems slightly more interesting, even if it will be necessary to boost the package with additional options.

the RIO (Operator Identity Record) is a unique identifier, made up of 12 characters (letters or numbers), which will be requested by the operator with whom you wish to subscribe. To get it, just call 3179. A voice server will then tell you your end date of commitment, as well as the RIO number of your line. Note that an SMS will be automatically sent to you with all the information communicated by the vocal server.

Offers and promotions of mobile packages, this is not what is missing and that’s good: we do not have the same needs, nor the same requirements and nor the same budget. Some are looking for the lowest price at all costs, others maximum mobile data, a no-commitment plan, limited for the youngest, the possibility of buying a new smartphone… essential to go through the box: what do I really need and what are my financial limits?
