While Renault presents its Mobilize Duo, Microsoft teases the next version of its operating system.

Best Internet connection in the world: a speed of 46 Tb/s in the United States

It was in the United States that scientists recently broke the Internet speed record. Indeed, researchers from the US Department of Energy (DOE) are working with a speed of up to 46 Terabytes per second thanks to the ESNET network, a connection 46,000 times faster than that of ordinary users. This equipment allows DOE scientists to work in the best possible conditions and transfer large amounts of data every day.

Towards a ban on 8K TVs?

In view of the new rules imposed by Europe to limit the energy consumption of electrical appliances, it could well be that the manufacturers of 8K televisions are upset. Indeed, current models consume much more than the new measures allow and reducing the consumption of 8K TVs is a very complicated challenge, even impossible according to some manufacturers, such as the Product Development Director at TCL Europe, Marek Maciejewski.

Our tests of the week

Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen (2022): modernity and energy saving

This second version of the Apple Watch SE offers a nice design, even if Apple does not offer anything new compared to the first edition. We love its screen, the quality of the WatchOS operating system and the compatibility with all previous watch straps. The arrival of bluetooth is also good news. That being said, we regret that the autonomy is not up to the competition, that the recharge is so slow and that an iPhone is essential for the use of the Apple Watch.

Google Pixel 7 Pro: one of the best smartphones of the year

If this new flagship does not bring anything revolutionary compared to the previous model, the fact remains that it is one of the best Android smartphones currently available on the market. We love its premium design, its almost perfect screen and the presence of Android 13 without overlay. The Pixel 7 Pro is also an excellent photophone and it is very pleasant to use. Note that during our test, we were disappointed with the Google Tensor G2 and the audio part.

Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 3 IAP: an attractive dual-screen laptop

The Lenovo Thinkbook Plus Gen 3 IAP is a PC that offers a particularly comfortable format with its 21:10 main screen and its secondary screen in “notepad” portrait mode. We were delighted to discover the large set of connectors and the biometric options, namely the fingerprint or the IR camera. We regret that the RAM is soldered and we would have appreciated more storage.
