SAP Appoints Carlos Lacerda Senior Vice President and General Manager for Southern Europe

SAP has announced the appointment of Carlos Lacerda as the new senior vice president and general manager for Southern Europe, an area that includes Spain, Greece, Israel, Portugal and Turkey. In his new position, Carlos Lacerda will be responsible for Customer Success operations for Southern Europe and will report directly to Manos Raptopoulos, SAP Regional President for Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA South).

Carlos Lacerda succeeds João Paulo da Silva, who -after more than 26 years at SAP- has made the decision to continue his professional career outside the company, after a few months off.

Carlos Lacerda has led the ERP business in the cloud and RISE with SAP in the SAP EMEA South organization to date and has been part of both the regional leadership steering committee and the SAP management team. Prior to joining SAP, Lacerda held various senior management positions at Microsoft EMEA and Asia for 19 years. He was also CEO of ANA, Portuguese Airports and Farminveste.

“With the appointment of Carlos Lacerda as Head of Southern Europe, we are ensuring a smooth transition for our customers, our partners and our team,” commented Manos Raptopoulos. “Carlos brings with him a long history of success with clients, creating and promoting important deals and fostering high-performing, diverse and inclusive teams. I am really pleased to continue our collaboration and see the positive impact that it will undoubtedly bring to our customers, partners and employees in southern Europe”.

“At this time, when SAP is focused on the success of its customers in the cloud, I don’t think there is a better place to be than southern Europe,” says Carlos Lacerda. “This region is a hotbed of innovation, and it is truly a pleasure to continue building on the legacy of João Paulo da Silva, leading an incredible team of people and working with a great ecosystem of partners, to serve our clients in their transformation into the cloud with SAP.
