SoftwareOne has opted for Joaquin Potel as new cloud & apps sales lead from south EMEAwhich includes Spain, France and Italy.
From his new role, Potel, he will lead SoftwareOne’s business in infrastructure, application and SAP services with the three hyperscalars (Azure, AWS and GCP). With this appointment, the company wants to consolidate its growth strategy, based on offering an even more complete portfolio and on the creation of new services and business areas in order to help its clients in their technological transformation process.
25 years of career
Industrial Engineer from ICAI and PDD from IESE, Joaquín Potel has a extensive experience in the IT sector, where he has developed a successful professional career for the last 25 years. In this period, Joaquín Potel has held different positions of responsibility in multinational companies in the sector such as EMC Spain or Microsoft Ibérica.
Prior to his time at both multinationals, Potel held different positions of responsibility at the IT Meta Group analysis house, at Banco Pastor and at Europa Management Consulting, the company where he began his professional career.
Joaquín Potel disembarked in comparex in 2016, before joining SoftwareOne, where he held the position of general manager in Spain for almost five years. In 2021, he was appointed global head of SoftwareOne’s application services business, assuming the worldwide address of this area made up of more than 1,500 employees and in constant growth, a position he has held until his current appointment as cloud & apps sales lead for South EMEA.
Joaquín Potel has pointed out: “I am very excited about this new position, which allows me to be much closer on a day-to-day basis to our customers and partners in the southern EMEA region, which is also the fastest growing area for our company”.
