Cimico is awarded as the most innovative Basque startup at the EmprendeXXI Awards

The EmprendeXXI Awards have recognized Cimico as the most innovative startup in the Basque Country. This award has been promoted by CaixaBank, through DayOne, its division specialized in technology companies and their investors, and co-granted by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, through ENISA. In the region, the organization of these awards has the support of the Basque Government and the SPRI Group.

EAVE directs its activity to electrify homes with charging pointsphotovoltaic and batteries in a single installment, freeing homes from the consumption of fossil fuels and allowing them to be self-sufficient by producing green energy.

Thus, the winning company, which is from San Sebastián, develops and supplies innovative technologies for the biological treatment of wastewater. Thus, they bring innovation to conventional treatment technologies, improving their treatment capacity between two and three times, increasing the guarantee of system operation, reducing the CAPEX and OPEX of the facility and reducing its size in the same proportion.

The EmprendeXXI Awards were born in 2007 with the aim of promoting and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, contributing to the development of young companies with high potential and recognizing the social, economic and environmental impact that these businesses generate in their territory. Since its creation, the program has invested 7.5 million euros in cash and accompanying actions, which have benefited more than 465 companies.

Collaboration with other startups

After a close vote, the victory finally went to Cimico from San Sebastian. “There has been emotion until the end and to have been able to win is super exciting. Even more so seeing the candidacies that have been presented, of an enormous level, so my congratulations also to all the projects”says Inés Larrea, CEO of Cimico. “I would say to all entrepreneurs that we have the best job in the world and that we work on what we want and believe in. Larrea herself confesses that “I was convinced that another of the candidacies would win, super interesting projects have been presented and I am sure that we will be able to collaborate among all the startups that are here today to come out stronger”. In addition, she wanted to send a message of encouragement. “All of the start-ups that are here today are winners and I am convinced that we are going to do very well in our ways”concludes Larrea.
