Sony surprises by showing a new OLED TV. What do we know about the Sony A75K?

As expected, Sony took advantage of the idyllic setting of the Consumer Electronic Show to present its new family of televisions for 2022. Without a doubt, the great exponent was the Sony A95K, the first model with a Samsung QD-OLED panel. But it seems that the Japanese firm had an ace up its sleeve.

And it is that a video has appeared on the official Sony channel on YouTube where they show the Smart TV Sony A75K, an OLED TV with a Sony XR processor. Without a doubt, a surprise since at no time have we known the existence of this model beyond the official press release published by Sony. In it, how can you check in the following link, mentions the A75K series, but does not specify any of its technical characteristics.

This is the new Sony A75K OLED Smart TV

As we told you, we have no information about this television beyond the video itselfin which they mainly extol the main technologies of this new processor:

  • XR Contrast: get purer blacks and great depth and texture.
  • XR Color: a technology that allows to offer realistic colors in a broader spectrum.
  • XR Clarity: a complete upscaling system to improve any low resolution content.
  • XR Motion: Enhances the moving image.

On the other hand, this processor also has two very interesting sound functions and that will allow you to enjoy a superior acoustic landscape.

  • XR Position: a technology that takes advantage of the speaker function of the screen of this television to ensure that the sound always reaches the viewer.
  • XR Surround: The TV can be linked with a compatible sound system or speakers to provide a greatly enhanced surround soundscape.

We also see that the Sony A75K TV may be combined with a camera that is placed on its structure (sold separately). This element has all kinds of sensors to measure the level of ambient light and adapt the brightness and contrast to the room where the TV is installed.

In addition, in the description of the video they inform that it will be a 4K model with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. We have no further information on this, but it is clear that this model will be Sony’s cheapest OLED TV in 2022.

It would be below the Sony A80K, but we will have to wait for the Japanese manufacturer to offer more information about a television that has taken us all by surprise. Of course, seeing the presentation video, it is impossible for this model to be QD-OLED, so we point more towards Sony’s OLED entry range than a high-end Smart TV.

Possibly, this model reaches the market in the middle of the year, like the rest of the Japanese firm’s family of televisions, with the exception of the Sony A95K, which will surely arrive at the end of the year since Samsung will begin production of its QD-OLED panels in mid-summer.
