Star Trek: Alex Kurtzman will lead the franchise until 2026

Will be once again Alex Kurtzman to take care of the franchise of Star Trek for CBS Studios, at least until 2026.

According to what reported by Deadline, Kurtzman, along with his production company Secret Hideout, has signed a $ 150 million deal with the studio, obtaining the rights to all projects related to the Star Trek universe through 2026.

A renewal of the producer’s contract that comes for the second time two years in advance, indicating the appreciation CBS Studios has towards the father of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard And Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Kurtzman will then oversee all the series and films produced in the Last Frontier of Space for the next six years. Among these is the renamed series in development Star Trek: Prodigy and made in partnership with Nickelodeon, but also Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (coming next year) and a still rather mysterious project related to Section 31 and actress Michelle Yeoh.
