Target Expands Drive Up Services

Major U.S. retailer Target claims its free app-based Drive Up pickups are one of its customers’ most loved and requested services. And it is for this very reason that very soon, this fall, the company plans to test a lot more functions within Drive Up. And while the company has decided not to go into too much detail for now, in some markets, it has been revealed, customers will still be able to pick up an order from, say, Starbucks or make a return without going into the store itself.

Also, if you continue to believe the words of Target management, the ability to place an order at Starbucks is one of the most frequent requests from customers. With the new initiative, right on the way to the store, you can, for example, order certain items from the Starbucks menu through the Target app. An employee of the latter company, in turn, will deliver your order straight to your car when you arrive. Moreover, a very important, convenient and useful detail will be that users will also be able to set up and return through the Target application, as well as complete the process in the Drive Up lane. In addition to the features mentioned above, Target plans to expand its back-up merchandise program with categories such as beauty products and home essentials.

This, in turn, means that customers will be able to choose from a much wider range of non-essential products, if the main products they need are not available for one reason or another. The company also claims that since it originally started offering customers back-up options for product orders, its employees have been able to replace back-up items 98% of the time. So even if you don’t get the item you want, it’s highly likely that you’ll get something pretty close to what you originally wanted.
