Telefónica buys the German cloud solutions company BE-terna

Telephonethrough its subsidiary Telefónica Tech, has confirmed the purchase of the German technology company BE-terna to its majority shareholder, Deustche Private Equity, and to the rest of the minority shareholders, for which it will keep all of its shares, after paying around 350 million euros. The company is dedicated to the development of advanced solutions in the cloud, focused on offering facilities to companies for their digital transformation.

The German company is one of the main Cloud Microsoft Dynamics partners in Europe, in addition to being one of its gold partners in the area, and among others it works with Infor, UI Path and Qlik in optimizing business processes. There is still no approximate date for the closing of the operation, which will have to have the approval of the German authorities in charge of monitoring competition.

BE-terna tuco in 2021 revenues of 121 million euros, and presents a growth value of more than 30% year-on-year, after having carried out 15 successful integrations. It was founded in 2005, and currently has more than a thousand employees spread over 20 offices in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Nordic countries and the Adriatic area.

With its purchase, Telefónica expands and consolidates its presence in various European countries, and reinforces Telefónica Tech’s commitment to becoming a leading technology services company in Europe. In addition, the operation also serves Telefónica Tech to advance its growth strategy, which is one of the pillars of the group to drive its transformation. In 2021, Telefónica Tech had revenues close to 1,000 million euros, which represented a year-on-year growth for the group’s subsidiary of 33.6%.
