The great failures of Apple in the Steve Jobs era

The history of Apple is the history of Steve Jobs, the man who completely changed the way we communicate and interact with technology. A person without equal, who was capable of the best and the worst, and who, unfortunately, he left us in 2011 after a long fight against his illness. However, during his leadership, Apple also presented major failures, do you know them? In this article we are going to analyze them.

Apple III and Next computer

Jobs’s first big flop came in 1990, with the release of the Apple III, a personal computer tasked with surpassing the success of the Apple II. However, since its presentation it was presented due to its design, which generated enormous heating and production problems. Four years later, the model was withdrawn from the market in 1984.

Shortly after, Apple released next computer. This team was thinking for professionals. However, the price pushed back a large part of its customers, not reaching the sales levels they expected in Cupertino.

This computer was on sale for only one year. Even though your design was completely innovative and ahead of its time, incorporating a natural, silent and fanless cooling system.

Power Mac G4 Cube

The problem of this product was the same as the Next Computer, a very high price, specifically, a price of $1,599 And worst of all, it did not include a monitor.

Most of us users have a concept of the iPod as one of the products that completely changed the music industry and set the foundations of what Apple is today.

As a result of this success, Apple launched the precursor to HomePod, launched an accessory that would allow it to become the musical center of every home (do you understand the name of the HomePod now?), and that it had with the participation of the bose company, one of the best companies in the world in terms of music.

The product, presented, again, a price outside the market and with atrocious competition, caused a disaster only at the sales level, if not also at the musical level, since the true music purists openly criticized this device.

Software failures

In 2004, Apple introduced the new Apple Music software, and it aimed to become the market standard music app.

For the launch, Apple counted on Motorola, one of the main companies in the sector. However, the product was not without problems, since it could only store up to a maximum of 100 songs and it took a long time to transfer songs. Finally, after receiving criticism for weeks, both decided to go their separate ways.

Finally, we have to highlight Apple TV. In 2007, Apple released a small box that could connect to your Mac TV, so the Apple TV proto served as a connection link between both products. However, the iTunes download times and the low quality of them made it a failure.
