The iPhone 15 series hasn’t even been announced yet iPhone 16 rumors are already piling up. Our colleagues at MacRumors have highlighted a note from Jeff Pu, a technical analyst at Haitong International Securities, who is known to have already unveiled changes to the next iPhones in advance.

This time around, the analyst is already announcing what to expect for next year’s iPhone 16 generation, and in particular the iPhone 16 Pro. In the program, two major changes, both of which concern the hardware part of smartphones.

Wi-Fi 7 and a new camera for the iPhone 16 Pro

The iPhone 14 launched with Wi-Fi 6 and not Wi-Fi 6E, but Apple has since brought Wi-Fi 6E support to the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini, and should bring it to the iPhone 15 line next month. However, as also announced by Jeff Pu, it should be expected that Wi-Fi 7 will not arrive on Apple smartphones before the iPhone 16 Pro in 2024. Still, several Android smartphone manufacturers have already started making their devices compatible.

The Wi-Fi 7 standard will support data transmission on the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. This will not only speed up upload and download speeds but also reduce latency for a secure and stable connection. In terms of data transfer speed, Wi-Fi 7 will offer up to 40 Gbps.

The iPhone 14 Pro is equipped with a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, which uses the pixel-binning technique to produce crystal-clear photos, and a similar camera could also be adopted for the ultra wide-angle sensor on the iPhone 16 Pro, again according to information from Jeff Pu. This will allow you to capture ultra wide-angle shots with ever more detail, without necessarily sacrificing the general quality of the photo.
