The Radeon RX 7900 XT is a graphics card that competes with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, and therefore should be considered a high-end model capable of offering good performance in 4K resolution. The official price of this AMD graphics card in Spain is €1,049but as we told you last December, said price dropped shortly after its launch, and it was possible to buy it from 999 euro.
Over time, its sale price has had some fluctuations, but in the end it is clear that it is immersed in a certain downward trend, and this is being noticed especially in the US market, where it is possible to buy a Radeon RX 7900 XT from only $761.99. To give you an idea of what this implies, I remind you that its recommended price is $949.
I think it is quite clear that these price drops that have been taking place are motivated by lower than expected sales, and that in the end their main objective is to boost them. In the Spanish market, prices have not dropped that much, but it is true that in some retailers it is possible to buy the Radeon RX 7900 XT with a base price of 949.95 euros, and I’ve seen it in lesser-known stores, and I can’t recommend it because I’ve never bought it in them, for 930 euros.
It’s good to see the prices of next-generation graphics cards coming down, but if you want to buy a cheap mid-range model we will still have to wait a few months, because NVIDIA just recently released the GeForce RTX 4070, which is a high-end entry-level graphics card, and AMD hasn’t released anything beyond the RX 7900 series yet.
Right now, within the new generation high range, the cheapest we can find is a GeForce RTX 4070, which has 12 GB of graphics memory and supports DLSS3. Its recommended price is 669 euros, but we can get it reduced to 619.90 euros, and with a promotion that includes Overwatch 2 Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle.
In terms of raw power it is at the level of a GeForce RTX 3080, but it performs better in ray tracing and thanks to DLSS 3 (frame generation) it is capable of surpassing more powerful models, since this technology allows it to generate one additional frame for every two conventionally rendered frames.
