The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 arrive at the end of the month, and we now know how much each model will cost. Unfortunately for us, Samsung will continue to raise prices.
It’s been several months that we can gradually discover everything you need to know about Samsung’s next foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, one unknown still remained: the prices. Thanks to French leaker billbil-kun, we finally know what to expect from this side, and it’s bad news.
Indeed, while we have just learned that the Galaxy Tab S9 will be more expensive than the previous generation, it will also be the same for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. Moreover, the increases will be quite significantand could well discourage some curious customers from switching to a foldable smartphone.
What prices for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5?
According to billbil-kun, who is almost never wrong, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be marketed in France from 1199 euros in its version with 256 GB of storageand it will cost 1339 euros for the configuration with 512 GB of storage.
You may have noticed, Samsung will therefore abandon the version with 128 GB of storage, which was marketed at only 1109 euros last year. It is therefore a significant increase of 90€ for the entry level, and 30€ compared to the same model in the Flip 4 series.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung would have expected an even larger increase. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be displayed at 1899 euros with us with 256 GB of storage, 2039 euros with 512 GB of storage and 2279 euros with 1 TB of storage. The prices therefore increase by 100 euros compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which started at 1799 euros.
However, we know that it is the Galaxy Z Flip 5 which will benefit from the most important changes, in particular at the level of the external screen which will now measure 3.4 inches. It is therefore surprising to see such a significant increase on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, since the latter will not be radically different from the previous generation. (patchhawaii.org)
