the Tesla will have 30 days of trial … under conditions

On Twitter, Elon Musk has just made a new promise. The Tesla boss has pledged to set up a 30-day trial period for FSD, its fully autonomous driving technology. Problem, it will not be for right away, nor for everyone.

Elon Musk excels in the art of making promises he won’t keep. For the moment, the promise made in 2016 to bring to market a car capable of crossing the United States in complete autonomy is not yet a reality.

For good reason, Autopilot and FSD, Tesla’s advanced assisted driving systems, are still far from being developed. Currently, Autopilot is at the center of several surveys official, carried out in particular by the NHTSA (the American federal agency in charge of road safety) or the American Ministry of Justice and the German authorities.

Furthermore, Elon Musk didn’t really help improve the image of his technology to the general public. Recently, the Tesla boss said his old Autopilot comments were actually deepfakes. An extremely clumsy way of saying that he never promised mountains and wonders with his systems, which is false.

Elon Musk promises 30 days trial at FSD

As a result, the businessman decided to go on a reconquest operation on Twitter. Indeed, it has just announced on May 8 the forthcoming introduction of a 30-day trial period for the FSD. “Once FSD is super smooth (and not just safe), we’ll launch a free month trial for all cars in North America. Then we will roll it out to the rest of the world after making sure it works well on local roads and regulators approve it in that country.” he writes on the blue bird.

As you can see, there will therefore be certain conditions to take advantage of this offer. It is first of all reserved for American users (initially anyway). And above all, it will be launched when the technology will be sufficiently safe and fluidto use the words of Elon Musk.

Note that the CEO did not give the reasons for this trial period for the FSD, which as a reminder remains an option billed at $15,000 and only available in the USA. However, we suspect that this is the perfect opportunity for him to collect large amounts of data needed to improve the artificial neural networks that power the FSD.
