The Witcher Blood Origin, the spin-off of the Netflix series, is revealed in a first trailer. This first promotional video teases the plot of the first season and an artistic direction that contrasts with the original series.

Netflix witcher blood origin

After two years of absence, Geralt de Riv is back on Netflix. The streaming giant has just put the entire second season of The Witcher online. In this new batch of episodes, the Witcher takes under his wing the young Cirilla, princess of Cintra, while Yennefer is left for dead at the hands of the troops of Nilfgaard.

The return of the character played by Henry Cavill was a resounding success. The Witcher has been ranked the number one most watched program on the platform worldwide. Determined to surf on the success of the witcher, Netflix had already formalized upstream several programs derived from the universe imagined by Andrzej Sapkowski.

The Witcher Blood Origin will be released on Netflix in 2022

Among the most anticipated projects, we find The Witcher Blood Origin (the heritage of blood in French version). Shortly after Season 2 aired, the streaming giant unveiled the series’ first trailer. As expected, the plot does not take place at the same time as the adventures of Geralt of Rivia.

The action takes place 1200 years before the events of The Witcher. “Set in the elven era, 1,200 years before the arrival of Geralt of Rivia, the prequel series is presented as a tale of ancient times”, says Netflix. We will discover the “Conjunction of the Spheres”, the fusion between the world of men, elves and monsters and the appearance of the first Witcher. The spin-off will reveal the events that shaped the world of the Witcher. In the video, we can see a trio of elves and a general atmosphere very different from that of the original series.
