Today starts the great entrepreneurship event, CYL-HUB Ávila

The capital of Avila inaugurates today the entrepreneurship event, CYL-HUB Avila. For two days, the city will host presentations and round tables focused on the innovative ecosystem, a startup fair, a pitch competition for startups and, of course, networking activities between startups and investors. From MuyPymes we are going to collaborate in these conferences moderating the round table «Castilla y León: First European Valley of Innovation», which will take place tomorrow.

The activities began today at the USAL Higher Polytechnic School and will continue tomorrow at the Lienzo Norte Congress and Exhibition Center. Attendees include an extensive list of self-employed, micro-enterprises, worker-owned companies, cooperatives and startups, as well as investors, corporations and public representatives, both Avila and the rest of Spain.

The first day of the event includes numerous round tables, in which leading experts will address topics such as the value of technology companies in Ávila, the keys to being able to undertake, the geospatial industry as a transversal tool, the social economy, entrepreneurial training and the challenges and the opportunities of the circular agricultural bioeconomy.

For its part, Friday will have more round tables, dedicated to topics such as the current state and future of the Ávila ecosystem, the challenges of Avila corporations by verticals and technologies, investment, innovative models of energy self-consumption, open innovation, ecological transition and investment in rural areas. Another of the scheduled round tables will address a particularly topical issue, such as the present and future of renewable energy.

In addition, during the event there will be a technical presentation of the Activate Amazon Web Services (AWS) Program, which will be preceded by the signing of a collaboration agreement by the Junta’s Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment, Mariano Veganzones, with the General Foundation of the University of Salamanca and AWS.

A sign of the great relevance of the event is that it brings together, over the two daysto more than 90 first-rate speakers, among which it is worth mentioning, at the institutional level, representatives of the Junta de Castilla y León, such as the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment, Mariano Veganzones, and the General Director of Social Economy and Self-Employed, Emma Fernandez. The president of the Provincial Council of Ávila, Carlos García; the Deputy Mayor for Employment, Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Ávila City Council, Sonsoles Prieto; Ángel Luis Muñoz, department director of the Ávila Higher Polytechnic School; the president of the Ávila Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, Alberto Pascual and the president of CEOE Ávila, Diego Díez.

Other speakers are the co-founder of B.Q. Rodrigo del Prado; the famous journalist and director and presenter of the RTVE program ‘Emprende’, Juanma Romero; the general director of ICO AXIS, Guillermo Jiménez, as well as representatives of corporations and investors such as Capital Energy Quantum, BME Growth, Iberdrola, FACSA, Enagás Emprende, Nissan and Keiretsu Forum and organizations such as the National Institute of Cybersecurity (Incibe) and ICEX Spain Export and Investment.

In addition to the more than 90 speakers, CYL-HUB Ávila has the participation of 21 startups, 20 corporations and investments and more than 200 attendees in total.

The main objective of this event is for participating freelancers, micro-businesses and startups to connect with different investors and corporations to get investment and customers and, of course, promoting and boosting talent, digitization, culture and equal opportunities, as well as having an impact on the younger generations, supporting the rural area and the unemployed population to attract them and turn them into active actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, influencing the reduction of social gaps in the technological environment. In addition, startups will be able to present their ideas and projects in the pitch competition, at the startup fair, and in private meetings with investors. The event has, in the chapter on complementary activities, two workshops, one on oratory and on how to speak well in public and communicate talent, which will be taught by Carolina Grijalvo- Coaching Burgos, and another on retention, recruitment, development and management of talent, which will be developed by the project TIMMIS Pollinates.
