Uber obtains parking spaces for its own use at the airports of Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga

Uber drivers will have specific pick-up points at airports in Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat and Malaga-Costa del Sol.

This is the result of a new contract tendered by Aena to provide new parking spaces for vehicles VTC in airports. And it is that, according to a survey carried out by Uber, four out of five users have used VTC services to travel to the airport at some time. In addition, half say that their trips to the airport have increased over the last five years.

The contract includes a total of 116 seats and has a duration of two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension. The seats are distributed as follows:

  • Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport: 36 spaces distributed between the T1 car park, the T2 Express car park and the T4 Preferred Car Park.
  • Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport: 44 spaces, distributed in the T1, T2 and Corredor Aéreo car parks.
  • Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport: 36 spaces in the Parking Express.

An Uber spokesperson: “Our objective is to continue improving the experience of our users when they travel to and from the airport, reducing waiting times, facilitating their access to the collection point and offering them assistance in person for any questions that may arise. In this way, we want to contribute to the recovery of the activity of Spanish airports”.

Uber has also announced the extension of its Reserve service for trips originating at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport. Thanks to the integration of flight information in real time in the Uber application, the user will be able to schedule a trip to be picked up when leaving the airport.

With Black Airport Reserve, Uber offers users greater control over their travel experience, giving them peace of mind knowing that once their flight lands and leaves the airport, your driver will be waiting for you to take you to your final destination, easily and safely, eliminating unnecessary waiting times.

When making the reservation, the application will show the final price of the trip to the user, which will be final even if the flight suffers modifications or delays of up to one hour. Once the application assigns the service to a driver, he will have access to flight information in real time and must be connected to the application one hour before the arrival time of the same. If the flight is modified or delayed, the application will notify the driver, who will wait for the user at the Uber pick-up point for up to 60 minutes after their flight lands. totally free.

In this first phase of implementation, Reserve is now available at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport for the Uber Black service. Travel reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance and up to two hours in advance.

How does it work:

  • Open the app before taking your flight to Madrid.
  • Select the Reserve option on the main screen and click on “Book a trip”.
  • Enter the Madrid-Barajas airport and the terminal where you have to be picked up, as well as the destination location, in the pick-up location.
  • Enter the arrival date and your flight number so the driver can track the information in real time.
