Just a few days ago, Amazon announced that the new echo devices They were already on sale in Spain. At MuyComputer we have tested the Amazon EchoPop, the company’s most compact smart speaker and we are going to tell you about its main features.
First of all, the new Echo Pop attracts attention because it comes with a totally renewed design and some very current colors, such as lavender and teal. Unlike the previous round models, these come in the shape of hemispherewhich reduces its size but not its power.
Another novelty is that the speaker is included in the front, in the form of a semicircle and with lossless high-definition audio. Dimensions are only 99x83x91mm, so you can place it in small rooms without it standing out excessively. The audio from the speaker is only 49.5 mm.
Echo Pop includes a smaller light bar at the top of the device, so you can easily see when you have notifications or when Alexa is ready to help you. This is another major change from previous models, which had the LED light surrounding the entire speaker.
Amazon also joins the fashion of the sustainability in the devices and has made the Echo Pop with 100% recycled yarn, based on wood fiber from responsibly managed forests. The aluminum part of the speaker also has an 80% renewable composition.
Regarding the price, it costs €54.99 and you have the option of putting a different cover on it, if the current one tires you or you don’t like it. Each silicone case is sold separately and is priced at €22.99.
How to use the Echo Pop if it’s your first time
Echo Pop has been designed to be very easy to set up and use. Here we explain step by step how it works:
- Connect your device to power.
- open the Alexa app on your mobile and select “Add a device” under “More” and then “Echo Pop
- From there, follow the instructions to finish configuring it.
- Once this is done, you will receive a notification update which will take about 15 minutes, so you can make sure you have the latest software version.
- Thanks to the multi-room music functionalityyou can fill your entire house with music by using multiple Echo Pops or other compatible Echo devices located in different rooms.
- If you have other smart devices, such as light bulbs, you can create your own Digital Home using your voice: turn on the lamp before you get out of bed, dim the lights from the couch to watch a movie, start a Routine, or adjust the thermostat on your way out the door. Echo Pop is also compatible with Matter, making it easy to connect and control compatible smart home devices from various brands.
