It is true that in this production we have dragons, White Walkers and a fantastic-medieval setting, but it is still the clear representation of how ambition and the desire to win corrupt human beings, once again being the concept of family the central axis of all the stories that come together in this epic great novel by George RR Martin.

Lately there has been a lot of talk about this series due to the problems that its protagonist, Kevin Costner, had raised to continue filming -we don’t know at what point they are right now- and it is that the actor has the upper hand with this production that every time has more followers. In it we meet a wealthy family of ranchers who struggle to maintain control of the largest ranch in the USA despite pressure from an Indian reserve and the country’s own federal government.

the sopranos
I recently read that The Wire and The Sopransor they had had a son and his name was Succession. With such a statement, you can already imagine what you are going to find in what is considered by many to be the best series in the history of TV. The Sopranos puts Tony Soprano as the central protagonist, a New Jersey mobster that he faces great difficulties both in his home and family and in the criminal organization he runs.

Industry
If what you like about succession is the business roll, you might get hooked on Industry. This series, also on HBO, introduces us to a group of young people who go to work in a powerful London investment bank. If you want backstabbing, betrayals and lies in order to succeed, you will find them among the characters in this drama, much more risqué, by the way, than Jesse Armstrong’s proposal.

Mad Men
If you’re a fan of TV series, chances are you’ve already seen this marvel, but if for whatever reason, it’s always slipped under your radar, it could be a good substitute in the absence of Succession. In it you will meet the creative director of an advertising agency, Don Draper, who struggles in 1960s New York to stay on top while coping with the enormous pressure of work and her own family dramas. An award-winning series that surely will not disappoint you.
