8 things that Bard, his AI, can do and his rival can’t

The war for Artificial Intelligence is more alive than ever. After the launch, and the unthinkable success of ChatGPT, all the big technology companies (Google, Microsoft, Adobe, etc.) have fully stepped on the accelerator to launch their own AIs with which to compete in the market and not be left behind. It is true that, at the beginning, ChatGPT was the first, the most accurate and, simply put, the best. But is this still the case?

Of all the Artificial Intelligences that have reached the market and that, right now, any user can use (there are hundreds of them), there are two that stand out in particular: Bing Chat, from Microsoft, and Bard, Google’s AI. And, of the two, the one that is undoubtedly the most complete and accessible is that of Google.

Admittedly, Bard had a rather bumpy and controversial launch. Let’s remember, for example, that shareholder presentation where he started giving racist responses. But before the release of the public version, Google worked to fix these bugs. And, although at first we may not bet too much on it, right now it has become a dangerous rival for ChatGPT, so much so that it could even finish it off.

Bard vs. ChatGPT

Bard’s 8 keys to end ChatGPT

Although Bard is not yet available in Spain (we must access with a VPN if we want to use it), this Artificial Intelligence is already available in more than 180 countries around the world. And, in addition, its use is completely free for all users. Apart from that, this AI stands out, mainly, for several factors.

  • Internet access. While ChatGPT does not have access to the Internet, and its information base is already somewhat outdated as it only reaches 2021, Bard is connected to the Internet, so it can give us fast and direct answers with updated information in real time.
  • You can summarize documents, news or web pages. Thanks to the fact that it is connected to the Internet, we can pass it a URL and it will be in charge of analyzing it, reading it and summarizing the most important things for us.
  • voice support. Google allows us to interact with this AI using our voice, so we don’t need to be typing all the time with the keyboard.
  • code comments. If we provide a URL, for example, to GitHub, it will analyze all the code, explain it to us easily, and help us answer any questions we may have.
  • Possibility to export results. Although OpenAI recently introduced a feature for sharing chats, Google makes it much easier, being able to export it with two clicks directly through Gmail or Google Docs.
  • Includes many accessories. Although ChatGPT also has (paid) plugins, the ones included by Bard are much more accessible, and useful, for users: YouTube, Spotify, Gmail, Google Drive, Wolfram…
  • It offers us several different results at the same time. Unlike ChatGPT, which only offers us one answer to each question, Google Bard offers us three different answers to each request.
  • Google it. While OpanAI’s AI often shows incorrect fonts, with Bard we can directly search Google to avoid this.

How to use Google AI

Bard’s AI is still in the experimental phase. For this reason, there are some countries (among them, unfortunately, Spain) from which we cannot access (unless we cheat a little). To start using this AI, we just have to access this link.

And, if we are in Spain, what we have to do is connect through a VPN or from a proxy that goes directly through another country. In this way we will be able to access Google’s AI and begin to enjoy what will probably end up being the killer of ChatGPT.
