Amazon and Anthropic have reached a collaboration agreement that will mean the unition of its technologies dedicated to the advancement of Artificial Intelligenceas well as your experience in generative AIwith the goal of accelerating the development of the foundational models that Anthropic creates, and then making them accessible to AWS customers.
As part of this agreement, Amazon will invest a maximum of $4 billion in Anthropic, and in exchange will have a minority stake in the company. Additionally, Anthropic will use AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips to develop, train, and deploy its future foundational models. Additionally, Anthropic will collaborate with AWS on the development of future Trainium and Inferentia technologies.
AWS will become Anthropic’s primary cloud provider for mission-critical workloads. Among them, security research and the development of foundational models in the future. Anthropic also plans to run the majority of its workloads on AWS.
In the long term, Anthropic is also committed to offering AWS customers access to future generations of its foundational models. Amazon developers and engineers will be able to build on Anthropic models from Amazon Bedrock, incorporating generative AI capabilities into their work, optimizing existing applications, and generating new customer experiences across Amazon’s business areas. .
