AMD RX 6950 XT, 6850 XT and 6750 XT: 10% more powerful graphics cards to shake Nvidia?

AMD is preparing to unveil graphics cards that are even more powerful than the current generation later this year. Without being revolutionary, these should nevertheless allow the giant to shake Nvidia.

AMD Radeon RX6800

According to leaker @mooreslawisdead is Twitter, AMD is about to unveil three new high-end GPUs, the Radeon RX 6950 XT, RX 6850 XT and RX 6750 XT. Like their predecessors, these would still be engraved in 7 nm. However, we know that AMD has given its most recent graphics cards, the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT, an even finer engraving of 6 nm.

Although the new generation of graphics card does not offer the finest fineness of engraving, these should benefit froma significant increase in their bandwidth. Indeed, the bandwidth would go from 16 Gbps on the current generation, including for example the RX 6900 XT, to 18 Gbps on new cardss.

A Radeon RX 6950 XT faster than the RTX 3090 Ti?

According to information from the leaker, this increase in bandwidth allowed AMD to increase the power of its new graphics cards by nearly 10% compared to the previous generation. Thanks to this increase in bandwidth, AMD should be able to slightly increase the frequencies of all its GPUs.

@mooreslawisdead expects this extra power to allow the Radeon RX 6950 XT, the fastest card of the lot, to be more interesting than the new RTX 3090 Ti. Nvidia’s card is currently experiencing major production problems, which have prompted the American manufacturer to postpone its release, originally scheduled for January. Faced with these low availability, some resellers would even display the GPU at more than 4000 euros.

Thanks to its new Radeon RX 6950 XT, RX 6850 XT and RX 6750 XT, AMD could then offer an interesting alternative to the high-end Nvidia RTXs, provided that the cards are available in sufficient quantity. Unfortunately for the players, we imagine thatthey will also suffer the sharp price increases that we saw with the previous generation. According to previous information from another leaker, the three graphics cards from AMD should arrive by this summer.
