The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is the most anticipated processor of this new generation of AMD chips. I am not saying that it will be the most in demand, nor the best seller, of course, since we are talking about the brand’s top-of-the-range integrated for home equipment, and that therefore it will only be the choice of a minority of all users, but yes which is what will tell us how far AMD has been able to go by combining the ZEN4 microarchitecture with its 3D cache technology.
As we told you a few days ago, AMD has presented no less than three versions of chips with its stacked cache technology, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 8 cores and 16 threads, Ryzen 9 7900X3D with 12 cores and 24 threads and Ryzen 9 7950X3D with 16 cores and 32 threads, the processor called to become the top of the range of this AMD generation and, therefore, to be the integrated one that will have to stand up to the Intel Core i9-13900K, with which Intel has done what own at Raptor Lake.
Since the Ryzen 9 7950X3D has already been officially presented, we already know a lot of information about it, such as that its maximum working frequency is 5.7 gigahertz (and remember that the X in its name indicates that it has the multiplier disabled, for what overclocking will be within reach), that its TDP will be 120 watts and that it will equip a whopping 144 megabytes of cache memory, which will substantially speed up a large number of tasks.
What we do not know, yet, is the date on which they will hit the market or, to be more exact, we did not know, since the company itself seems to have accidentally leaked, the date of arrival to the market of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D: next February 14. As reported by Digitaltrends, the technology company has momentarily published a list showing Valentine’s Day as the date chosen for the arrival of this processor on the market, but said list has been quickly eliminated (which has not prevented it from would become public.
We must take into account, however, that the date shown in that list may not be final, that the company still has room to make changes to it and advance or delay it a few days, in principle and except for surprises, always within of the month of February. However, this type of accidental publication is usually quite consistent with reality, so we can count on that date as something more than probable.
We still do not know, yes, what the price of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D will be when it arrives on the market. Let’s remember that, when it arrived on the market, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D did so with a price of $449, when the Ryzen 7 5800X had a price of around $350. Therefore, if we take into account that the price of the Ryzen 9 7950X is sold for around 725 euros, little or nothing should surprise us that this top of the range hits the market for an astronomical price of more than 800 euros.
