The Ahsoka series has delivered an explosive new trailer. This confirms that it will be a sequel to the animated series Rebels and that it will put Thrawn at the center of the plot. Something to gently install the next film in the saga.
The next Star Wars series to arrive on Disney+ is Ahsoka. It is revealed today in a brand new trailer which confirms that it will be a direct sequel to the animated series Rebels.
Ahsoka will tell us the story… of Ahsoka. This character, absent in the films, is nevertheless well known to fans, since she appears in The Clone Wars, Rebels or The Mandalorian. Anakin’s former apprentice is played by Rosario Dawson.
Ahsoka will be a direct sequel to the Rebels series
The series, headed by Jon Favreau, is a direct sequel to Rebels (2014-2018). Taking place between episodes 6 and 7, she will continue to make the connection between the two trilogies. For this, she sets up the return of the First Order via the figure of Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen. A legendary bad guy in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Other characters from the animated series will be present on screen, such as Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and of course the grumpy droid Chopper. Hayden Christensen is also set to make an appearance as Anakin.

No doubt it will take to have seen the animated series Rebels to understand all the stakes of Ahsoka. Fortunately, all four seasons are available on Disney+. A viewing that we strongly recommend, as the series is full of qualities and strong characters.
Ahsoka is the new stone in the building of what is called the Mandoverse, composed of the series Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka or even Skeleton Crew. Different stories that will come together in a film directed by Dave Filoni. This one will have to finish establishing the link between the Return of the Jedi and the Awakening of the Force.
Ahsoka will air from August 23 on Disney+. As usual, the episodes will be distilled over the weeks but two will be available on release day.
