Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon already has a release date, trailer and confirmed platforms

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon It is the title with which From Software intends to be noticed in this 2023 (with permission from the Elden Ring expansion). The developer has officially published the release date, a trailer with gameplaythe platforms for which it will be released and the minimum requirements for PC, which can be consulted through its Steam tab.

For starters, the release date scheduled for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is the August 25, 2023, possibly somewhat earlier than certain estimates that pointed to autumn. However, and since there are still a few months to go, a delay should not be ruled out, but for now it seems that From Software and Bandai Namco will meet the deadline. The price for Spain on Steam is 59.99 euros for the standard edition and 69.99 euros for the Deluxe edition.

The supported platforms are PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, so we are facing a title that will be intergenerational. This may end up having an impact on the technical quality of the game, as seen in Resident Evil 4 at the time. On the other hand, From Software has already shown on more than one occasion that porting to PC is not his thing, so we’ll see if the intergenerational bet doesn’t end up being a drag in every way. The minimum requirements for Windows are as follows:

  • Operating system: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
  • 12GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4 GB, AMD Radeon RX 480 4 GB or Intel Arc A380 6 GB
  • DirectX 12 (which on Linux and the Steam Deck will be translated to Vulkan via VKD3D-Proton)
  • broadband internet connection
  • 65GB of available data storage space

Regarding the trailer, it is published in 4K resolution, it goes at 60 frames per second and has a really spectacular finish. As far as can be seen, the dark and dystopian setting is very well achieved and it seems that it will be another game that will cause punches at the monitor and more than one throwing the remote control out of the window, which in the end is a brand of the house.

From Software, which started its takeoff with Daemons Souls and especially Dark Souls, has made a name for itself in the industry by creating games that have mixed a high level of challenge with fantasy. Without abandoning some already known and consolidated foundations, the company has been introducing variations in its formula through titles such as Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring.

The situation around Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon seems to be difficult because it is an IP that is not so well known by the general public, despite being older than others belonging to or developed by From Software. The sixth numbered installment of Armored Core will most likely be the one that introduces the saga to the general public, so the challenge of satisfying new players and veterans at the same time lies ahead. Will he get it?
