The ASUS PN42, successor to the ASUS PN41, is now available for pre-order. This new mini PC adopts a compact, fanless designwhich means that it can be easily integrated into work spaces where maintaining a low noise level is essential, and it also has a well-defined, discreet and simple line, so it will not look out of place on any desk.
At the specification level, the ASUS PN42 comes with a Intel N100 CPUa chip based on the Gracemont architecture, which is the same one found in the high-efficiency cores of the Core Gen12 and Gen13 processors, is configured with four cores and four threads at a maximum of 3.4 GHz, has 6 MB of L3 cache, a 6-watt TDP, and an integrated Intel UHD GPU with 24 execution units.
We can buy it without RAM and without storage, or opt for a base configuration of 4 GB of DDR4 at 3,200 MHz and a 128 GB SSD for 270 dollars, 248 euros. The maximum configuration that we can achieve with this equipment are 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage capacity.
The ASUS PN42 has a network card compatible with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2and it has a good range of connectors:
- 4 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A.
- 3 x USB 2.0 Type-A.
- 1 x DisplayPort 1.4.
- 1xHDMI.
- 2 x 2.5GbE Ethernet.
- 1 x 3.5mm jack for sound input.
- 1 x 3.5mm jack for sound output.
In its barebone version, that is, without memory and without storage, it has a pre-purchase price of $220, which is about 202 euros. We have not yet seen it listed in Spanish retailers, but it is clear that its arrival should be imminent.
