Beelink raises the level of Mini PCs
The first thing that stands out about this new system is the processor, based on the latest AMD solutions. On the one hand we have the GTR7 that is based on the processor AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS and the GTR7 PRO is based on the AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS. Both processors have 8 cores and 16 threads with similar frequencies. In addition, both have a Radeon 780M that integrate 12 Compute Units based on RDNA3.
To be more exact, the Ryzen 7 7840HS works at a base frequency of 3.8 GHz and in Boost mode it reaches 5.1 GHz. This processor includes the Radeon 780M that reaches a frequency of 2.7 GHz. The most powerful model is based on the Ryzen 9 7940HS that works at a frequency of 4 GHz and that reaches 5.2 GHz in Boost mode. It includes a Radeon 780M that reaches 2.8 GHz.
Thanks to these processors, these compact computers offer support up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM using two SODIMM slots. On the other hand, this system allows the installation of M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD with a capacity of up to 8TB.
Both systems are very similar in specifications and connectivity. They include two USB 2.0, three USB 3.2, one USB-C 3.2, and two USB4 with support for DisplayPort 1.4. In addition, it offers an HDMI 2.1, a DisplayPort 1.4 and two 2.5 GbE Ethernet ports. They also include connectivity Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
One of the highlights of these new systems is that they break the boring trend. Currently, all Mini PCs have similar shapes and, above all, extremely boring colors. Beelink bets on the colors orange, green, dark blue and gray.
These Mini PCs are positioned as an excellent solution for gaming. They integrate a very powerful graphics that can move games without major problems. Specifically, Elder Ring can move it at about 40 FPS, Cyberpunk 2077 at about 50 FPS or Horizon 5 works at 55 FPS. In addition, it will move CSGO at 120 FPS, LoL at 160 FPS or PUBG at an average of 85 FPS.
How much are these new systems worth?
It all sounds very good, why are we fooling ourselves. It is quite an important leap within the Mini PC market, but now comes the important thing: the price.
Currently they are only available on AliExpress for pre-sale and they are not exactly cheap. The Beelink GT7 costs 1,465 euros and the GTR7 PRO costs 1,800 euros. The specifications of these systems are not clear, since at all times there is talk of the maximum capacities.
It is not said that they carry, for example, 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 4 TB SSD. But, even if they were 64 GB of RAM and a 4 TB SSD, the prices are very expensive for these systems. The truth is, for the price of these Mini PCs you buy a much better desktop or laptop computer.
We will see if once they are officially launched they end up having reasonable prices.
