Bethesda invades PS Plus this month

As you know, we have had a somewhat hectic first few months of the year with Sony and Microsoft more at odds than ever due to the purchase of Activision-Blizzard by the parents of Xbox. And the fact that there may simply be the slightest possibility that call of duty stop coming to playstation, has erected a barrier between the two industry giants.

In the name of peace

This being the case, it seems that Microsoft, at least, is determined to reduce the tension a bit, since it does not benefit anyone: everything is being prosecuted, putting the agreements under the magnifying glass and making even private messages public, and all that is not the best for a market that, with its things, continues to lead the leisure industry above others such as music or cinema.

So after seeing the list of games coming to PS Plus throughout the month of April, We couldn’t help but think that Microsoft wants a little approach to SonAnd, therefore, it has allowed some of its best games, created by Bethesda, to end up on the list of those available within the Japanese paid subscription.

Or do you think that decisions like these are taken away from the heat of that legal battle that is brewing over Microsoft’s purchase of Activision-Blizzard? It seems evident that the conciliatory spirit and always colleague by Phil Spencer has been able to prevail in this movement.

Games coming to PS Plus

The fact is that, as we tell you, it is the Bethesda titles that practically dominate the list of those that join the PS Plus catalogs, which, as you know, since last June it has several categories. So those that reach Extra and Premium are the following (in bold those that belong to the Microsoft conglomerate):

  • Bassmaster Fishing (PS4/PS5)
  • Doom Eternal (PS4/PS5)
  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS4/PS5)
  • Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom (PS4/PS5)
  • Paradise Killer (PS4/PS5)
  • Riders Republic (PS4/PS5)
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS4/PS5)
  • Slay the Spire (PS4)
  • The Evil Within (PS4)
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (PS4)
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (PS4)

However, the list of titles only for PS Plus Premium classics are as follows:

  • Dishonored: Definitive Edition (PS4)
  • Doom – 1993 (PS4)
  • Doom 3 (PS4)
  • Doom 64 (PS4)
  • Doom II – Classic (PS4)

As you can see, the list of these games is more than interesting and it is clear that, if there is an interest on the part of Microsoft to veto Sony in any territory, these games would not have made it to your subscription service, so we can understand it as a first wink from the Americans towards the Japanese. Now it only remains to see how Sony takes it because, likewise, she understands this detail as a gesture of weakness and takes the opportunity to further radicalize her position.

Be that as it may, this “console war” version 2023 that they are leaving us between PlayStation and Xbox is going to be fun. No?
