Dell Technologyhas announced a expansion of its range of security products and services dedicated to data protection. Among them are a new PowerProtect appliance, enhancements to its APEX storage services, and an agreement to use Google Cloud for online recovery.
The device Dell Power Protect Data ManagerDell’s flagship hardware security innovation, is designed to deliver AI-powered data protection in an enterprise environment. Among other things, it offers backup and restore capabilities, with support for Kubernetes and VMware hybrid cloud environments. Its role is also to help accelerate the adoption of zero trust architectures.
With Dell PowerProtect Data Manager, the company has integrated security features into hardware and firmware points. Also various security control points, which aim to simplify everything related to the deployment of zero trust systems. Dell claims it can be deployed in less than 30 minutes, offers 12-96TB capacity, integrates VMware software and services, and is cloud and data recovery ready.
As we mentioned, Dell has also announced the expansion of its APEX cloud services to include announced data protections. Earlier this year, Dell announced several backup and recovery support services in its pay-as-you-go storage consumption model.
In addition, the company has expanded its data protection approach to include Google Cloud as one of the possibilities of choice for information recovery. It was already compatible with Amazon Web Services, and also with Microsoft Azure.
PowerProtect Cyber Recovery for Google Cloud it allows Dell customers to deploy a kind of isolated digital camera inside Google Cloud. Access to PowerProtect management interfaces is blocked by network controls, and it may be necessary to use separate security credentials and multi-factor authentication to gain access.

The PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance will be available starting this month in more than 30 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Dell PowerProtect Data Manager software is also available now, as is Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery for the Google Cloud platform.
Dell APEX Data Storage Services Backup Target will arrive in the first quarter of 2023 in 16 countries in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Dell’s Cyber Recovery Guarantee will be available in the United States beginning in January 2023.
