Elon Musk will step down as Twitter CEO in 2024

One of the most notorious movements of Elon Musk since he arrived on Twitter has been, without a doubt, that of plaunch a survey in which he asked users of the social network if he should stay in charge of the company in the role of executive director (CEO) or yes, on the contrary, the participants considered that it is best for him to leave the position. I have always had doubts about what result I expected to be produced, because that is where his intelligence comes into conflict (yes, I have already made it clear on many occasions that I do not like him at all, but we cannot deny him intelligence) with his ego, which materialize would be so large and so dense that it could probably absorb the occasional black hole.

Surely you will remember, the result of the survey was that I had to leave Twitter, because 57% of the participants determined that they should resign. Her answer from him? That she would as soon as he found a “dumb enough” replacement. This, at the moment of truth, is like saying nothing, since he did not commit to doing it on a specific date, after certain achievements or when Mars and Pluto align with the Big Dipper. So, from the get-go, he already gave the impression that, whether he liked it or not, he was going to take it pretty easy.

So much so that, since then, we have once again had multiple news about Elon Musk’s decisions at the helm of Twitter, but not a single word regarding when and how he will transfer the executive direction to someone elsesomething that is claimed not only by Twitter users who voted for his departure, but also by investors, shareholders and clients of the other companies in which he is also the CEO, such as Tesla and SpaceX.

It seems, however, that the subject has not been totally forgotten and that, surprise, there is an approximate date in the air. Of course, you better wait sitting down, because things are going to take a long time. As we can read in Bloomberg, Elon Musk has stated that he will step down as CEO of Twitter at the end of 2023that is, more than a year after the survey was completed and he stated that he was looking for a “fool» to take over the social network.

Now, if you are one of the people who were waiting for his departure, do not rush to mark December of this year on the calendar, since it is only an estimate given by Musk himself. And it is that his objective is none other than wait until you have sanitized your social media accounts and established a firm roadmaptwo objectives that, in view of the “today” of Twitter, invite us to think that he has said the end of 2023 the same as he could have said of 2024, 2028 or the day that the human being reaches Mars, since they seem really distant objectives .

Personally, I have the feeling that his huge ego prevents him from assuming that the majority of Twitter, represented by all the people who participated in the survey, do not want him at the helm of the social network. He will be able to continue to own it, of course, but his chaotic management style and his unpopular decisions have not served to win him favor with the general public, but rather a certain antipathy that, personally, I understand perfectly.
