The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is not compatible with DeX accessories, but never mind, you’ll still be able to enjoy the system’s best functionality.
Contrary to rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is unfortunately still not DeX compatible. This means that it does not support the range of accessories that extend its functionality and “de use it as a computer by connecting it to an external display, such as a TV or monitor. In theory, however, the clamshell notebook fulfills all the requirements, in terms of performance, with a Custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoCas in connectivity, with its USB 3.2 USB-C socket.

According to Samsung, Galaxy Z Flip 5 can’t support DeX for energy envelope reasons. The flip phone would overheat. It’s a shame for this smartphone which would most likely have made even more new followers, especially among professionals. We could dwell on the subject for a long time, and regret Samsung’s marketing choice, but the lack of compatibility with DeX is not a fatality.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 can be hooked up to an external display, even though it’s not DeX-enabled
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is still a great concentrate of technology, and despite its small format, its capabilities remain great. Thus, the fact that it now offers a USB 3.2 socket in USB-C format means that it is possible to connect it to an external display without any configuration. Better yet, connecting the smartphone and a monitor in this way with the appropriate cable should not overheat the device.

This year, Samsung’s foldable smartphones will have to deal with a competition a little more pugnacious than in previous seasons. Indeed, Google unveiled its Pixel Fold, a direct competitor to the Z Fold 5, while at the entry level, Motorola offers the Razr 40, the most affordable folding smartphone.
