When will the GeForce RTX 40 be released?
The Tuesday, January 3 at 6:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time). And yes, indeed, it will be during the celebration of the first great technological event of the year, CES 2023.
This, which in itself is already very interesting, becomes even more so when you take into account that it will coincide, in those days, with Intel’s announcement of its Raptor Lake-H chipsets, that is, its mobility solutions. In other words, in a matter of hours, we will see the launch of the new generation of processors and graphics cards in mobile devices. And shortly before Three Kings Day, so many will consider it a gift.
Which GeForce RTX 40 Mobility models will NVIDIA introduce at CES 2023?
Well, according to Wccftech, who would have had access to an internal technology document, these GPUs will be the stars of the event:
- RTX 4080Ti either 4090 mobility (GN21-X11) with 16 gigabytes of RAM.
- RTX 4080 Mobility (GN21-X9) with 12 gigabytes of RAM.
- RTX 4070 Mobility (GN21-X6) with 8 gigabytes of RAM.
- RTX 4060 Mobility (GN21-X4) with 8 gigabytes of RAM.
- RTX 4050 Mobility (GN21-X2) with 6 gigabytes of RAM.

Obviously, it is still too early to reach final conclusions in this regard, since at the moment we only have the information leaked from NVIDIA, and that allows us to compare the performance of these RTX 40 Mobility (and the new RTX 3050 6GB) with respect to the RTX 30 Mobile. However, based on these data, it appears that the performance jump will be quite pronounced:
By establishing some comparisons based on said data, we see that the top of the range (which is still not clear if it will be called RTX 4080 Ti Mobility or 4090 Mobility) is ahead, for a 30%, at the top of the range of the previous generation, the RTX 3080 Mobile; On the other hand, between 3080 and 4080 we see that the same increase is repeated, a 30%; The difference between 4070 and 3070 is more pronounced, where we see that it increases up to a 46%; between 4060 and 3060 we return to what was seen previously, with a new 30%; and we close by comparing the 4050 with the 3050 (note, not with the one that is presented at the same event) where we see the biggest difference of all, with a brand new fifty%.
For its part, if we compare the new RTX 3050 6GB with the existing models, we see that the performance improvement is of the 12% compared to the 3050 Ti and the 30% if we compare it with the RTX 3050 4GB.
When will the first computers with GeForce RTX 40 Mobility graphics hit the markets?
Obviously, there is no official announcement about it yet. However, the general opinion is that announcements of specific models will take place, by many manufacturers and assemblers, almost immediately after the presentation of the RTX 40 Mobility and the Intel Raptor Lake-H. Thus, we can count on the fact that we will hear from them during CES 2023 (although not necessarily at events within it) and that their arrival at the points of sale occurs a few weeks later, between end of January and beginning of February.
