Heated mouse pad, genius or madness?

We can find mouse pads in the market with a large number of sizes, shapes and designs. The basic function of this element is to improve the precision of the mouse and offer a comfortable surface for the user. Something we have never seen is a heated mouse padbut, it’s a good idea?

It is true that the sensors of current mice work on practically any surface, the mousepad being, in many cases, a mere optional accessory. Although it is no longer as necessary as it was a few years ago, it is still an important and present element in any setup. Now, from China we get a twist on this element.

That your little hand does not get cold

You can find just about anything that comes to mind in AliExpress. Looking for mats we have found something that we had never seen and that had not occurred to us: a heated mouse pad.

The truth is that this element, to a certain extent, is genius. Can keep your hands warm while you play, even if it’s cold, it looks like something cool. Without a doubt it is, since now in winter, when night falls and the cold is felt, you stop wanting to play because your hands get cold.

Although this invention brings comfort, it has certain important problems that we must consider. most of mice (and keyboards) are made of plastic, a material that does not take well to heat. It is true that it would not melt at 30-40 ºC, but it can go losing integrity. This means that they can appear cracks and in the long run it could end up breaking.

It can also affect the electronics of the mouse and even the sensor. Mice are not designed to work on a surface that constantly radiates heat. The truth is that it is a bit difficult to know how this element can affect the mouse, since it is a rare product.

If it is very cold in your area, it can be an interesting element that can allow you to save some light. You keep your hands warm and you warm up the room too, a bit of a two for one. This is already depending on taste, really, but I can’t see myself using a heated mouse pad. If anyone tries it, please share your experience with us.

The seller indicates that 96% of the surface of the mat emits heat. It stands out that there are no heat emissions, since the resistance is covered by the fabric at all times.

It has a system of temperature regulationwhich allows it to operate between 35ºC and 60ºC. It stands out that it integrates an intelligent type control chip that stops the operation of the mat after 3 hours of ignition.

The mat is in a version of 520mm long by 260mm wide and of 800mm long by 330mm wide. They are quite large models, which, according to the seller’s images, can even be used to sleep on it.

A rather peculiar invention and one that would hardly have occurred to us.
