How Sage integration with some Microsoft products will affect customers

A few weeks ago, we found out that Sage had extended its agreement with Microsoft, so that some business products of the latter were integrated into the Sage Digital Network portfolio. The product in question is Microsoft Business Products, including Teams and Microsoft 360, one of the most popular management software among SMEs.

“Small and mid-sized businesses are moving faster and faster toward their digital business transformation, but connecting the tools they use can be a barrier to transformation”, said Steve Hare, CEO of Sage. “Microsoft products and Sage management solutions have enabled companies to improve and streamline back office management. Now, thanks to this agreement that expands our lines of collaboration, we will simplify the lives of millions of SMEs, removing friction and helping them achieve real increases in their productivity”.

During this digitization process, companies are becoming aware of the flexibility and productivity that the cloud can bring to their businesses. This agreement allows Sage to continue offering its clients work options on cloud platforms, as well as manage communication and organizational collaboration in real time, facilitating and optimizing the way in which companies develop their business processes.

In the month of July, the British multinational announced the launch of Sage Active for some of its clients. Sage Active is a new, easy-to-configure management solution deployed in the Microsoft Azure environment. In a first stage, it is available to the company’s customers in France and, later, it will be in Spain and Germany. This new cloud solution enables small and medium-sized businesses the management of its operations and compliance, as well as having access to the rest of the benefits of Azure.

Small and medium enterprises play a fundamental role in the global economy”says Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of Cloud + AI at Microsoft. “Our agreement, which adds the financial management knowledge of Sage to the potential of the Microsoft Cloud, allows us to offer reliable, secure and scalable solutions to millions of companies around the world and allow them to be more productive, reduce costs and promote their growth”stands out.

The extension of the agreement will provide:

  • Simplification: Linking the collaboration and communication tools available with Microsoft 365 to Sage’s back office functions will simplify workflows and reduce manual processes, allowing users to reduce time and streamline their processes.
  • Improved Reliability: the use of Sage solutions in the Azure environment will improve users’ reliability, security, performance and scalability, allowing end users to access virtual applications and desktops, Microsoft OneDrive and SaaS applications on their devices through the Single Sign-On (SSO) system, all as part of Sage membership.
  • Productivity: Together, Sage and Microsoft will deliver true digital work experiences, with exceptional performance and reliability, to help companies be more productive and agile in running their businesses. As data becomes one of the main assets of organizations, being able to work seamlessly between Microsoft Excel and Sage will improve workflows, governance and security.

The need for flexibility and resilience that businesses have today is unprecedented. Sage and its partners are helping to accelerate the transformation of their clients into companies that run their businesses intelligently and reliably in the cloud”, says Stacy Schuettler, president of LBMC Technology Solutions. “Sage has championed the digitalization of companies for 40 years, and we are delighted by the new horizons and the expectations that this agreement offers our clients to be more productive and simplify their operations”, he concludes.
