Kenneth de Spiegeleire new Chief Revenue Officer at Qonto

Qonto has recently appointed Kenneth de Spiegeleire as the new Director of Income (Chief Revenue Officer), to promote the growth of the company from Spain. After the incorporation of Jordi GudiolQonto’s director of operations, there are already two members of the board of directors who reside in the country, showing the relevance that the market implies for the company.

Since April, de Spiegeleire has been leading the teams international market managers and its growth, with the aim of facilitating Qonto’s path to profitability. His appointment responds to the company’s strategy of incorporating profiles with extensive experience that add the necessary expertise to continue consolidating the business in the long term and promote international expansion in the SME segment. In his opinion “Although there is constant talk of innovation in fintech, SMEs still need more attention. For this reason, Qonto provides them with the necessary tools to facilitate their goals.”. One of the fastest growing segments for the company is the creation of companies, in fact, recently has reached 100,000 companies created in the four markets in which it operates.

His main mission will be to lead growth in Qonto’s main markets: France, Germany, Italy and Spain, thanks to its wide capacity to scale companies. In turn, he will direct international marketing and sales operations. Over the past 20 years, de Spiegeleire has held a variety of management roles in the United States and Europe, both at multinationals such as Cisco and Vodafone, as well as at start-ups such as Dropbox and, most recently, Forto.

«I am firmly committed and I wholeheartedly join Qonto’s mission of supporting and facilitating the day-to-day life of small and medium-sized European companies. We have a real opportunity to simplify some of the complexity that often seems to accompany financial services,” declares de Spiegeleire, who has added that «It is a source of pride and, at the same time, a challenge, to join such a qualified team and help achieve such an ambitious goal: to become the business financing solution of choice for one million European SMEs and freelancers by 2025″.

De Spiegeleire joins Qonto at a strategic moment in the neobank’s growth trajectory. Last year was key: in January the company closed the record Series D financing round, and in July, the acquisition of Penta in Germany. After these two milestones, Qonto seeks to consolidate its all-in-one service for financial teams, including larger SMEs with tailor-made products; increase its share in the markets in which it operates beyond France, its country of origin (Germany, Italy and Spain), achieve profitability and increase its commitment to sustainability and inclusion.
