MINISFORUM presents its most powerful Mini-PCs with AMD Ryzen

MINISFORUM UM790Pro and UM780Pro are the new compact computers based on the latest AMD Ryzen processors with which the Chinese manufacturer specializing in Mini-PCs increases an already spectacular catalogue.

The new compacts feature a metal chassis and an improved cooling system to keep temperatures at bay. And it is necessary since its hardware base corresponds to the latest AMD Ryzen Mobile with Zen 4 architecture and a leap in processing and graphics performance.

Thus, the MINISFORUM UM790Pro mounts the Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU with 8 cores and 16 processing threads, work frequencies that can exceed 5 GHz and 16 Mbytes of cache. The second model, the UM780Pro, mounts a Ryzen 7 7840HS CPU in the only difference between versions. Both have the integrated Radeon 780M graphics and their TDP consumption ranges from 35 to 54 watts.

These machines have two SODIMM slots with support for up to 64 GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory and two other M.2 2280 connectors to mount PCIe 4.0 solid-state drives for internal storage.

They also have an M.2 2230 connector occupied by a wireless card (with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5..2), and a set of ports that includes:

  • 2 HDMI video outputs
  • 2 USB4 ports (with DisplayPort alternate mode)
  • 4 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
  • 1 3.5mm audio jack
  • 1 2.5GbE Ethernet connector
  • 1 19 V DC power input

MINISFORUM UM790Pro and UM780Pro will be available soon with Windows 11 pre-installed and a price that should be high considering its equipment. These Mini-PCs can be used for consumer computing, offices, entertainment and also games. For this market, the manufacturer sells expansion bases as external graphics where the most powerful dedicated ones can be mounted while maintaining the size advantages of these compact ones, increasing their capacity in several levels.
