Netflix has announced it has ordered a documentary series about the couple who tried to launder ill-gotten funds in the 2016 Bitfinex hack, one of the biggest hacks in bitcoin history.
It only took streaming giant Netflix three days to order a documentary series about Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan, who were arrested this week for an alleged plot to launder 119,754 bitcoins linked to the 2016 hack of Bitfinex, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
As a reminder, the couple is accused of having tried to launder nearly 4 billion euros in Bitcoins. The government managed to seize a few days ago $3.6 billion in cryptocurrencies stolen during the hack. These bitcoins were allegedly stolen during the hack of the Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange in 2016. It is still todayone of the biggest hacks in the digital currency industry.

Netflix seizes the case for a documentary series
