New Apple Watch: materials, colors and performance

Little more than a month separates us, except surprise, from the presentation of the new generation of Apple Watch. For some time we have been quite clear that the Apple Watch Series 9 will be one of the protagonists of the already traditional keynote Apple in September, and the big question was raised by the Apple Watch Ultra, whose first generation was presented in September of last year. Thus, we did not know (and officially still do not know) how often Apple plans to update it, but a leak from just over a month ago told us that we can expect an Ultra 2 this year.

Thus, counting on the fact that we will see a double generational change, obviously doubts are directed towards the news that will come hand in hand with these updates. And, of course, we are talking about Apple, so that the activity of the leakers has been dedicated for months to trying to anticipate some of these novelties in each and every one of the aspects related to the future smartwatches of those from Cupertino. As always, of course, everything will have to be taken with reservations, but it will be rare that there are not at least several hits among his advances.

One of the most recent advances comes hand in hand… yes, surely you have already imagined it, from Mark Gurman, Apple’s reference leaker, who, although it is true that he has made some notorious mistakes (such as when he announced that the iPhone SE third generation would come with a substantial price drop compared to its predecessor), It also has a long history of hits.which is why many of us continue to pay close attention to their leaks, previews, and predictions.

As we can read in your Power On newsletter, The Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will arrive with a significant improvement in their performance. An improvement that would come hand in hand with the update of its integrated, the also still unpublished Apple S9, which inherits many elements from the Apple A15 Bionic and which, therefore, represents a significant leap in technical specifications both in computing performance with in graphic functions. And it is that since the launch of the S6, which did represent an important evolution compared to the S5, the S7 and S8 have been minor revisions of their respective predecessors.

Another rumor that has gained strength is the one that states that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will have a black titanium editionwhich fits with another rumor that we saw yesterday, and which states that said material will also be used in the bezel of the iPhone 15 Pro. However, we are not talking about the “base” model of the Ultra 2, but about a special edition that It will also undoubtedly command a higher price, in return for the substantial advantages of titanium over aluminum and stainless steel.

On the other hand, we also come across a rumor that states that the color catalog of the Apple Watch Series 9 will add pink to the currently available options which, remember, are midnight, star white, silver and red (Product RED) for the aluminum model and gold, silver and graphite for the stainless steel model. The rumor does not tell us, yes, if the new color will reach the models of both materials, which seems less likely, or if it will be exclusive to one of them.
