A OnePlus smartphone with 150W fast charging in the 2nd quarter of 2022

Fast charging will enter the market on a smartphone signed OnePlus. That “technology developed by the OPPO Research Institute will debut on a OnePlus smartphone in the second quarter of 2022”, announced Pete Lau, co-founder of OnePlus, on the official forum of the brand. Given the launch window mentioned by OnePlus, the phone in question would be the OnePlus Nord 3, the next smartphone in the OnePlus Nord series, launched in 2020.

To avoid degrading the battery, the SuperVOOC 150W recharge requires the use of a “customized dual battery, state-of-the-art circuit board and integrated microcontroller to improve overall charging efficiency”. This innovation recharges the two batteries at low voltage.

BBK Electronics does not intend to stop there. Through Oppo, the group has already announced the arrival of a 240W charging technology during MWC. With this future home solution, it will be possible to fully charge a phone battery in just 9 minutes. On its Barcelona stand, Oppo presented a smartphone prototype that already embeds this technology.

Relame, which is also part of the BBK Electronics group, should also take advantage of the charging technology and integrate it into its future smartphones. What do you think of this race for the fastest recharge? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.
