Pedro Pascal believes that The Mandalorian movie is inevitable

Without a doubt, the project most loved by fans in terms of starwars refers to is the Disney+ series of The Mandalorian. And it is that this one, for being practically the one that broke the ice in November 2019, has become one of the banners of the platform streaming thanks, also, to the characters he has left us, such as the enigmatic Mandalorian, the fearsome Moff Gideon and, of course, the charismatic (and financially profitable) Grogu.

Third season and Pedro Pascal

Last week the Star Wars Celebration was held, an event that commemorates the saga created by George Lucas. Trailers for series like Andor, Ahsoka Y Willow, which although it does not belong to the galactic saga is still a franchise of the Lucasfilm production company. As expected, There was a lot of talk about the third season of The Mandalorian and taking advantage of the occasion, a release date was offered for February 2023.

In that Star Wars Celebration the entire cast of the series was present, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and a small animatronic from Grogu. As a final culmination, a first advance was shown, although it was exclusive to those attending the convention. In that video we could see Mandalore, more of Grogu and what seems like a deadly rivalry between Din Djarin and Bo Katan.

In addition, and as a result of this new season, the actor Pedro Pascal – who gives life to the main character of the series – was asked if he thinks that a movie of his character could be on the way. The actor of Latin descent stated that, although he has no idea if there is a project in the works, he believes that it is about time and that it would be “something inevitable” at this point.

Will there be a Mandalorian movie?

Let’s analyze this possibility. From an economic point of view it would make a lot of sense since, until the premiere of the series of Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Mandalorian was the most watched Disney+ original series, so a movie based on the character would be profitable almost instantly. Also, it would help clean up the cinematographic image of the starwars Disney, which has been damaged since the premiere of the last trilogy, the sequels led by JJ Abrams and an inoperative Kathleen Kenedy.

Also, it is not unusual for the end of a series to be given the form of a movie in theaters, as a (temporary) climax until future projects arrive. Although that tradition has now been lost, almost a decade ago some of great series used to end up in theaters: sex in new york, High School Musical 3 (from Disney Channel)…

Apart from that question, from Variety Pedro Pascal was asked about how many chapters he has signed to do, to which the interpreter replied with a forceful “I have no idea”. Does that mean that he has signed a blank sheet of paper for Disney and Lucasfilm to continue squeezing this warrior who has dazzled fans? We will see.

And you? Would you like to see a movie starring the entire cast of the series?
