Philips presents its new OLED807 television equipped with an OLED EX panel

With the Philips OLED807, TP Vision is attacking gamers and home cinema enthusiasts. Its television incorporates the new OLED EX panel and the latest technologies from the manufacturer.

TP Vision continues to unveil its 2022 audio-video range and the manufacturer wants to rely on a large catalog. After renewing its The One series, Philips presents its new OLED807 Ambilight TV. This TV will be available in 48, 55 or 65 inches as well as in a large diagonal of 77 inches, with the presence of a pivoting chrome metal T-foot for most references. Only the 77-inch version has metal and chrome stick feet.

The main novelty of the range is the integration of the new OLED EX panel. According to the Dutch manufacturer, it offers a 30% higher peak in brightness compared to a conventional OLED panel, thanks to the use of deuterium. This isotope of hydrogen is known “more efficient and more stable” to allow the pixels to shine brighter. It is associated with a new algorithm.

OLED EX panel and new video processor

The OLED807 television does not stop at this change of panel and offers itself a new sixth generation P5 AI image processor. In the ray of novelties, Philips evokes a more integration “intelligent” of the light sensor in the AI algorithms, as well as different options for Eye Care (eye protection), Dark Detail Optimization (optimization of dark areas) or Color Temperature Optimization to optimize the color temperature. The new range is also equipped with a new version of the Film AI Auto mode, increasing the number of image presets from two to seven. The Filmmaker mode is notably present.

Certified with all HDR standards on the market (HDR10, HLG, HDR10+, Dolby Vision or even IMAX Enhanced), this 4K Ultra HD TV can always count on four-sided Ambilight technology. For audio, it has a 70 W 2.1 system and will soon be able to be used as a center speaker in a DTS Play-Fi system.

A TV designed for gamers

The connection includes four HDMI ports including two HDMI 2.1 ports compatible with e-ARC, 4K/120 Hz and VRR. The Philips OLED807 is designed for video games by adding support for AMD FreeSync Premium, Nvidia G-Sync or even Auto Game and Auto-Low-Latency (ALLM) modes. To this is added a “gaming bar” for quick access to in-game settings.

Animated by Android TV and compatible with voice assistants, the television remains accompanied by a remote control with backlit buttons. The Philips OLED807 will be released in the coming months. With its availability date, the other big unknown is its price, which has not yet been communicated by the brand.
