Sage will train people with disabilities in .NET programming

Sage has signed an agreement reinforcement of its activity within the framework of the project #EmploymentForAll of the Adecco Foundation, which began seven years ago with an agreement that aims to help the most vulnerable to find a job. With this new agreement, Sage, in line with the actions of the Sage Foundation, seeks to give a promoting the employment of people with disabilitiesfor which the will train and provide the necessary skills to program in .NET environmentsone of the most demanded software development platforms.

This collaboration has become official with the signing, at Sage’s headquarters in Madrid, of the agreement, signed by Jose Luis Martín Zabala, Director of Sage, and Francisco Mesonero, General Director of the Adecco Foundation.

The training will be carried out through the Digital School of the Adecco Foundation, and 15 people with a disability certificate will participate in it. The course will begin on October 3, and will last approximately three months. When finished, the students will develop an end-of-course project each, for which they will have the support of Sage work groups made up of employees from different countries. All will share their knowledge and experience with these students.

This initiative is part of the Sage Pathways program, with which the company, through the Sage Foundation, is committed to the development, training and recruitment of people who need help to overcome the obstacles they have in accessing the labor market. Sage Pathways was born a little over three years ago in the United Kingdom, and since then it has spread to other countries, including Spain.

In addition to this agreement, Sage has shown its support for the #EmploymentForAll People project with an event held at the Sage headquarters in Barcelona, ​​in which Albert Sampierto, Head of the Sage Business Accounting Division, and Cristina Merino, participated. Coordinator of Integration and Inclusion of the Adecco Foundation in Catalonia. During the course of the day, students, trainers and mentors shared their experience with the attendees.

The signing of this agreement demonstrates Sage’s commitment to the most vulnerable people by helping them adapt to a labor market in which the acquisition of digital skills and competencies are key to improving the competitiveness of our business fabric”.

As to Francisco Mesonero, CEO of the Adecco Foundationin addition to thanking Sage for its support, has called for empathy and sensitivity from the business sector, pointing out that “In an eminently technological labor market, the acquisition of digital skills becomes key so that people with more labor difficulties can connect with the sectors of activity that are generating more employment opportunities. Thanks to the commitment of companies like Sage, professionals with disabilities who today lack the resources to access this type of training, will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to function in a booming field, normalizing their lives and avoiding social exclusion. Without forgetting that, at the same time, these initiatives result in the competitiveness of companies, making them more diverse and innovative”.
