Samsung announced a long time ago an alliance with Xbox to bring the game service to the Xbox Cloud Gaming cloud to your Smart TVs. In the first place, it prepared the 2022 models so that they were compatible with the Microsoft service and also with NVIDIA GeForce Now, and now, it is the turn to continue expanding the field.

Phil Spencer recently confirmed it. Canceling the Xbox project for streaming has been quite successful, since the price they could reach would not be what was expected. Instead, they opted to work on an app for Samsung Smart TVs. This application would allow you to access the Xbox Cloud Gaming service, and with the help of a gamepad, play your games directly without the need for a console.
The reception was quite good, however, until now only the 2022 models in the Samsung catalog were compatible with the new application. Luckily, at Samsung they have continued to work, and now the following 2021 models will be able to update their system and add the Xbox, Luna, GeForce Now, Utomik, Blacknut and Antstream Arcade applications (these last two planned for 2023) directly to the TV memory. There will be no previous models
The bad news is that, as announced at the time, 2020 models will not be compatible with the new applications, so this is the end of the round of versions compatible with streaming services. There seem to be no plans to expand the list of compatible models, and you don’t have to be too smart to guess, since the menu interface on a 2020 Samsung The Frame is not particularly fluid.
What is needed to play?
Once the application is installed, we will only have to pair a bluetooth controller (an Xbox Series controller would do) and make sure that our Smart TV is connected to the internet. With that, we can access services and play games remotely using the power of the cloud, so everything is simple to turn on the TV and remote control.

That the 2020 models are left out is not an absolute disgrace.
