Season 4 of The Boys will have a clear protagonist

Nice end of season 3

The end of the season, although it is true that it solves some doubts for us (although not too many), above all, leaves us with many unknowns for the future of the franchise, among which we can find what the CIA will do now that they have Soldier Boy under their power, what will happen now that Maeve has run out of powers and is hidden from Homelander, or what will Butcher do now that he has little more than a year to live as a result of abusing temporary Compound V, although for us, the one with the most potential He has for the future, what will happen to Ryan now that he will be raised by Homelander.

Well, thanks to a couple of announcements about the fourth season we may have answers to some of these questions.

Some signings that we will have for the next season have recently been revealed. First we will have Valorie Curry giving life to Firecracker, a new heroine created exclusively for the series. We will also have Susan Hayward in the role of Sister Sage.

Finally, and although it is not a new signing, it has been confirmed that, following the plot line that is presented to us at the end of the third season, actor Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan, will become a full-time regular. Interesting, don’t you think?

Don’t give me those eyes

This was confirmed by the showrunner of the series, Eric Kripke during an interview a few days ago: «If he is allowed [a Homelander] raising Ryan will raise him to be a second Homelander, which will have apocalyptic consequences. If he stays in that environment, he’s well on his way to becoming another Homelander,” Kripke said. “And so I think it’s a hint to what’s going to be one of the main conflicts in season four, which is that Butcher and Homelander are going to have this battle over Ryan.” Spooky!

In addition to the new signings we will have again our classic protagonists like Karl Urban, Anthony Starr, Jack Quaid or Ellin Moriarty. Now we just have to wait for the fourth season to be released. At the moment we do not have a confirmed date, but due to the production times that this type of series usually has, we could estimate that we will not taste anything until after the summer of 2023 or the spring of 2024.

Of course, what is clear is that the franchise still has several aces up its sleeve. For now, before the premiere of the fourth season, we should have the spinoff of Gen Va new series that will tell us about the adventures of a group of teenagers with superpowers inside a Vought company university.

And you? Are you excited about these additions from the fourth season of The Boys?
